Our Vision

Next Stop Tupper Lake is working to restore and reopen rail service initially between Tupper Lake and Lake Placid, and eventually from Remsen to Lake Placid. Our vision includes both Rails AND Trails. We need your help to make our vision a reality. Click here to learn more...

The Facts

  • We strongly support the creation of a Rails AND Trails corridor.
  • We want to partner with advocates of a recreational trail to make both rails & trails a reality.
  • ARPS (Adirondack Railroad Preservation Society) is NOT taxpayer subsidized and is profitable.
  • The New York DOT has repeatedly stated that they have no intention of removing the rails.
  • The current Railroad right of way is grandfathered.
  • Ripping up the rails WILL NOT create a recreational trail
